Critters

Here are some critters. Sorry about the less than flash-tastic quality, my phone can only do so much.

Hoss

Here are some horses. Phew, this posting once a day thing is getting tricky again.

Rainbows & Sunshine

Long ago, roughly a year ago I think, I posted about unicorns and narwals, and how they are clearly ancient enemies, locked in battle. Well, I wanted to draw a picture of them all living in harmony. Also flying pigs.

Odds n' Ends

Mostly Odd(s)

These are some heating pad designs that I did, that just didn't quite make the cut.

Freudian Flies

Sometimes I draw bugs. It's rare, but it happens. Usually they turn out to be dragon flies, because they are the coolest of the bugs! I mean, LOOK at how cool these things are!

Anyway, while a good friend of mine was perusing my wares in my sketchbook. He paused at this page and was silent for a moment, then proceeded to comment, "Wow, I don't think you could make such a cute bug look ANYMORE phallic". I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist. This was followed by reminiscing about his roommate's awesome habit of drawing cartoon peens, ala Superbad. But he did it WAAAY before the movie came out.

Howdy

Having been raised in the country, and around horses, I have a strong appreciation for cowboys, and western things in general. I'm talking mostly the equestrian aspect, barrel racing, horse shows, fancy hats, silver buckle, horses, etc. The idea of cowboys is so badass though, roughing it while you're herding cattle, endless hours trail riding through picturesque landscapes, eating loads of beans... I mostly just enjoy drawing silly cowboys and horses making funny faces. Well, really anything making funny faces, but horses especially.

Blame it on my childhood which consisted of mucking out stalls, grooming horses, trail riding, barrel racing and trail class. If memory serves, I could ride a horse before I could ride a bike. I was better at horseback riding anyway. Horses never ran into trees, and into ditches. Now that I have become a city slicker, the only thing I ride is the subway and the occasional bus. But I still look back on my cow girl days fondly.

Squids n' Such

Hookay. So You may have noticed that I haven't been posting for a while. I know, I know, for a project started with such conviction and zest, it kind of has bombed. Meh.

As a sign of repentance please accept this squid. He is dapper.

And Joe

Joe is a cat. He's very dapper. And sassy. And a love bug. But generally he's aloof. More drawings on that to come.

More on Joe

Joe is infatuated with me. It's hard to type when he's headbutting my hands and getting in my face.

BAH

This is a squid. I want to animate him running in terror. I could totally cheat this blog and post a frame a day. But that'd be wrong. When I have time I'll post an animation of this feller running on my other blog.

Penguin-OHs

I'm getting really excited for some winter weather here. This last bit of summer humidity makes for a grumpy and warm Jasmine.

Oh Man -atee

Playing catch up is hard when there are so many other things you'd rather be doing. So here's a manatee.

See Goat

I'm having a hard time drawing as of late. Life is catching up with me. I'll try harder to get back on track here.

What a Hoot

Here are some owls. They defy gravity. I'm going to be designing some things that involve owls, so I wanted to practice. I kind of want to pop these guys into flash and color them. Thoughts, feelings, comments?

Are you a Pelican or a Pelicant?

A friend requested today's daily doodle. It's a pelican. They're hilarious and I love their stupidly large throat pouches, whatever they're called. This one isn't too bright, clearly. Also, there's a little shark week bonus, though with the scan quality it's hard to really appreciate it.

Monkeying Around

This daily doodling is getting tricksey. I tend to do it last minute and then make poopy drawings. So I'm feeling a bit meh. I think if I start drawing earlier in the day, my sketches will feel more fun for me to do rather than like I HAVE to do them.
Also, Monkey.

Shark Week

I'm pretty sure shark week is around the corner. So I'm practicing drawing sharks.

Old McDonald

There are so many farms around my neck of the woods. Though really, my part of the woods would be more like the torso as opposed to the neck, as it is pretty massive, and generally thicker than what one would imagine a neck of woods would be like. But I digress. Farms. They're everywhere. In fact, there is a big ol' dairy farm above my house, and corn fields as far as the eye can see on the way. It's what you could call scenic. Or the perfect setting for a great B horror movie. Tomato Tomato. That saying is not nearly as effective when typed. Maybe Tomato To mah toe?

But yes, farm animals. You'll see them. Hordes of them. And if you don't see any, you're probably not looking hard enough. I once saw a goat in the back of a man's pick up truck which went through the drive through of McDonalds.

Da Bears

Sometimes you see bears in Maine. And sometimes you live to tell the tale. This bear, he's crabby mostly, but I'm sure he means well. I'm not going to lie, it's a little tricky to draw up here, there's too much stuff to do outside and I feel less inclined to draw. More tomorrow.
