Faces

Sometimes at work, I smile so much my face hurts. Or, I just can't turn off the smile when I'm done work, and I smile at random people on the street. It makes me feel like a robot, but not the cool destroy a city kind. Or the jet pack feet kind. Mostly the smily kind, which is okay I guess. But I'd rather have rocket feet.

And Joe

Joe is a cat. He's very dapper. And sassy. And a love bug. But generally he's aloof. More drawings on that to come.

JORB!

I have a job now. Awesome. It's at an art supply store! Shocker. Familiar territory indeed. But it pays the bills and the people there are all amazing. Though I do miss the Pearlies.

More on Joe

Joe is infatuated with me. It's hard to type when he's headbutting my hands and getting in my face.

Gaston!

No one barks like Gaston,
No one farts like Gaston.
No one's head's as incredibly big as Gaston's!
For there's no dog in town half as fancy,
Perfect a pure paragon!

My roommate has a French bulldog. His name is Gus. I drew him one day.

On Not Drawing

Playing catch up is HARD. Jesus. Never will I ever not post for a month. Shame on me for being lazy and lame. Actually part of the reason I finally am re doing this project is because of these two AWESOME guys

On Drawing

I love drawing. Don't get me wrong. If I didn't love drawing, I wouldn't be an animator and draw thousands of things. But sometimes, it's hard to want to draw. Sometimes you want to just sit in front of the computer or tv, and just turn to mush. Or you want to shove sewing needles into your soft finger pads because you think you'll actually make money on some stupid idea you had. (The reason I'm behind on my blog is the latter.)
SO. To reboot I decided to revisit an old drawing of some lovely people and paint them. They are new doodles, just painted.

Now For Something Completely Different

Yet hauntingly familiar. You may remember my post about my (then future) roommates. I wouldn't expect you to remember them. Although you should since clearly you visit my blog every day only to be disappointed by my lack of postage this past month. Well. I've recently re discovered my love of watercolor pencils. And had finally had enough of crappy hot pack designs.

Halloweenie Ideas

So to capitalize on the time of year, I wanted to design some spooky hot pack ideas. Mainly a brain and candy corn.

Monday, September 6, 2010

Commish

So I had someone at the gym ask me to design a heating pad for them. RIGHTEOUS! But they were monkeys, and skulls and things. Not so righteous.

You Got 'em

Abe Lincoln. Mustachio. Ipad (it's funny because they're heating pads!)

For the Birds

All I do is SEW. My fingers no longer bleed for all the pin pricks.

Because This is What I Do

I know. These are not GREAT doodles. But, I've been more focused on making these guys in 3d than actually rendering them in my sketch book. So there. Mayhaps I shall load the finished versions with the old sketches so you can see the results

With a Vengence

So I'm making hot packs. And this is what they could look like. Except in fabricy form.

Back ish

Okay. So it's been a while. Here comes my desperate attempts to catch up with the month!

And Still They Come

Because I know you haven't QUITE gotten sick of all this sketch poop

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Oh La-La

I'm not going to lie. I've been scrounging for inspiration. This month has been a crazy one. I've started a new job, potentially getting another one, meaning I'd most likely have to quit my newly acquired one, I'm MOVING. Dear lord, the list of crap going on in my life just goes on. But you're not here to read my complaints. In fact, you're not really here to read my comments at all. You're here to look at whatever images I poop out on a daily basis. I just thought I'd explain my creative constipation. Perhaps tomorrow I'll have something exciting to look at. Maybe not. We shall see.
I won't lie, I've become involved in a book. "American Gods". It's lovely. And I'd much rather be involved with this book than my sketch book presently. Perhaps I need to end this affair.

Meh

I want a cupcake. And a monkey. I also want freaking preview to save my durn edits to my pictures. Sorry that it's upside down.

Monday, August 23, 2010

BAH

This is a squid. I want to animate him running in terror. I could totally cheat this blog and post a frame a day. But that'd be wrong. When I have time I'll post an animation of this feller running on my other blog.

Penguin-OHs

I'm getting really excited for some winter weather here. This last bit of summer humidity makes for a grumpy and warm Jasmine.

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Oh Man -atee

Playing catch up is hard when there are so many other things you'd rather be doing. So here's a manatee.

Friday, August 20, 2010

See Goat

I'm having a hard time drawing as of late. Life is catching up with me. I'll try harder to get back on track here.

Metal Gear

So, I enjoy video games. One of my favorite games is Metal Gear Solid. You fight against a mechanical dinosaur with freaking rockets and machine gun turrets, using only Snake's terrifying raspy voice, his intense mullet, and a cardboard box. And some guns too.
One of my fondest memories as a young gamer was the fight against Psycho Mantis, where he could 'predict' your every move, until you plugged your controller into the 2nd player port. Mind BLOWN. Though every boss battle in that game was so satisfying. I mean, you fight a tank, a Helicopter, a guy who reads your mind, another guy who carries around a freaking fighter plane gun turret like a super soaker, and REPTAR, with basically a pistol. The story is A+ too.
Anyway, dis is what I got for you.
What was your favorite vidja game growing up? Let's get some interaction up in here.

What a Hoot

Here are some owls. They defy gravity. I'm going to be designing some things that involve owls, so I wanted to practice. I kind of want to pop these guys into flash and color them. Thoughts, feelings, comments?

Monday, August 16, 2010

Junk Bot

This here is a robot. He's a bit battered. Also, not finished. Minor details.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Hoo's There

I'm so punny. I also enjoy owls. Who doesn't? Here are two. I'm in the process of moving/painting right now, so sketches are low priority. However, they will be done.

Don't Wanna

I don't wanna draw today. Sorry. It's hard to want to draw when you have a laundry list of things to get done for moving, life, and the less important junk that still needs to get done. So I drew a grumpy monster. Those of you who have seen my business cards may recognize him. He's rather sullen.

Thursday, August 12, 2010

Punkins

I can't wait until Fall. I can feel it in the air. Also, pumpkins

Lillah

Another friend requested that I draw her kitteh. Fuzzy cats are hard for me to draw because my characters tend have very defined shapes to their bodies, so it was an interesting challenge. I think I'll have to try again at something super fuzzy and try and nail down a look. Well, I did my very bestest, and here's what I got. Please feel free to comment requests to me, it's not like I don't have another 300 something doodles left!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Sorry

Okay, pretty sure I'm getting this sea creature thing out of my system. Tomorrow's sketch will be different. I promise. It may be a cat. Just saying.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Puff Daddy

I'm still on a sea life themed drawing binge. We all have days where we feel bloated, or just too big for our skin. Well, that's everyday for a puff fish.

Sunday, August 8, 2010

Are you a Pelican or a Pelicant?

A friend requested today's daily doodle. It's a pelican. They're hilarious and I love their stupidly large throat pouches, whatever they're called. This one isn't too bright, clearly. Also, there's a little shark week bonus, though with the scan quality it's hard to really appreciate it.

Peanut Butter and...

Jellyfish! A special double picture post today because I colored this thing quite quickly. I wanted to play with the gradient tool in Flash because frankly, I recently figured out how to use it. Also I really like jellyfish. My favorites are those little ones in the New England Aquarium that are in a cylindrical tank and they're teeny tiny, and when they hit the glass, they just kind of ricochet around.

Love is in the... Sea

I think all this shark week stuff made me want to draw things in the ocean. Except for sharks apparently. I'm sure I'll be drawing some of those later. But I don't want to make any promises, because I sure do hate to disappoint anyone. Anyway, sea horses are really cool. They have stubby little fins and cool spines all the way down their back.

Feeling the Love

I have a fancy book about animals. It's a really nice coffee table book because it has lots of beautiful images of all sorts of animals and what nots. So I opened it and went to the sea life section, and saw cuttle fish. These are cuttle fish. And they're cuddling. So they're cuddle fish. Get it? Sometimes I'm so clever. I think I'm going to color these guys. Check out my other other blog to see the results.

On Goals

I'm shocked that I've been able to do this for a month. Cripes. Here are some turtles. They may be heroes in half shells. But I don't really believe that. I think they're just turtles with bits of cloth tied around their heads.

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Wuv

I like dinosaurs. I also like robots. I bet you thought I was going to say that I like robotic dinosaurs. Well I do. But that's not the point. The point is, is that robots and dinosaurs also like each other.

Monday, August 2, 2010

Randomosity

These guys like to sing. I'm not sure if they're good at it though. Also they are upside down. I was lazy today.

Sunday, August 1, 2010

Moar Monsters

Better sketch tomorrow. Didn't have time today as I was out adventuring with a dear friend.

More Bots and Bits

More robots. Because they're fun to draw, and cute, and whatnot
